Head Section of Development for East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency, Tengku Saugi Zikri said the project includes the construction of a water channel and pump house to handle floods in the area.

"The projects have been starting since August 2025 and is targeted for completion in April 2026," he said, Tuesday (10/14).

According to him, two jacking pipes with a diameter of 1,800 millimeters (1.8 meters) have been installed. Meanwhile, three of the eight planned pits have been opened for excavation.

"The old pump house on the site is being demolished," he added.

Saugi explained that the jacking work faced several obstacles, including the presence of utility networks such as gas pipes and PLN cables. Therefore, the drilling, which was originally carried out on the left side of the road, was now shifted to the right side, or to the Transjakarta bus corridor lane.

"Hopefully the obstacles can be handled well," he continued.

According to him, the new pump house will be equipped with two pumps by 500 liters per second capacity, and also Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.

"It is hoped the flood problem on Jalan DI Panjaitan will be handled significantly," he hoped.
